For anybody involved in Mime the present time is worrying. Will the current financial climate effect bookings? Will it effect just the private sector or will it have consequences for bookings made in the public sector,festivals etc. Even an important financial hub like Dubai is going through a downturn.
What can performers do? There will be some who just stop getting work. People will drop out or try to find other ways of making a living. Others will try to focus on the business side of how they operate. How can I make the most of current clients and how can I gain access to new ones. Marketing and sales.

At mimescape we are looking at these issues. There are no easy solutions. All depends on hard work and following common sense practices. You have to talk and talk and talk some more.

So we wait and see to find out what the year will bring.

Mimescape mime artists uk perform as Toy Soldiers

Brendan and Mel perform as Toy soldiers in the mall of the emirates and inside ski dubai. They utilise there mime skills to create robotic effects. It is a great example of mime entertainment both in the uk and worldwide.

Mimescape and the fake paparazzi

Whilst Brendan and Mel are in Dubai some of the Mimescape team have been working with the fake paparazzi and spoof paparazzi group the Pressmen. They have been performing in London at various functions utilising both their performing and photographic skills.

Brendan and Mel are currently in Dubai performing mime and character based mime entertainment. Here we have Brendan as a dancing Reindeer and a ballet oriented tree. Melvyn is performing as an Elf with Magic and balloons plus both are using robotics to perform as toy soldiers.

Until Brendan and Mel go to Dubai they have both been performing as Mimes for a new museum in the centre of London. In doing this they have performed traditional mime in the classic beret and striped shirt white faced mime as well as performing Mime in the John Bull costumes. They both have worked as Fake/spoof Paparazzi for the photographic group the Pressmen. This weekend Brendan will be performing as Father Xmas as well.

Brendan and Mel will now be in Dubai from the 10th December until the 25th. They will be performing a variety of mix and mingle characters. The rest of the mimescape team will still be in London performing as usual. The allied group The Pressmen performing as fake paparazzi and event photographers will also be working in the UK throughout the Xmas period.
